Arthur Lee, R.I.P.
Nowhere to link as the news is still breaking, but reliable reports say that Arthur Lee has passed away in Memphis, Tennessee. The frontman for the (not) legendary (enough) '60s act Love ended his career playing concert halls in Manhattan. Back in 1993, though, he could barely draw a decent crowd to the room upstairs at the old Knitting Factory. Lee was in fine form, but the high point was when he took time to praise God. An offended hipster yelled out a correction of “Goddess!” Lee's disdainful laugh was chilling.

Also, Lee inspired the best "Dawn Patrol" post ever.
