   4/26/07: “A Financial Fable” (1951)

Battling off deadlines again, so we’re going to celebrate the Dow Jones by farming out an entry on some comic-book capitalism—but let’s first marvel at how we thought we’d be all obscure when writing about this, only to find that “A Financial Fable” was covered in a fine essay that’s been bandied around the internet since 2002. All we can add is the actual title of Carl Barks’ classic Scrooge McDuck tale.  And, of course, how to…

Make it your own: “A Financial Fable” first appeared in Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #126, back in March of 1951. Original copies are probably expensive. Fortunately, the tale is hidden away as the second story in an affordable reprinting called Walt Disney’s Uncle Scrooge: Hawaiian Hideaway.
