  9/26/07: The Kingdom (2007)

We’re kind of busy over here, so let’s go ahead and use today’s entry to recommend The Kingdom. As recently noted, director Peter Berg has been establishing his alibis for this anti-terrorist film. He even lined up an acting role in the upcoming Lefty extravaganza Lions for Lambs. That might get critics trying to find some sort of anti-American message in The Kingdom. They tried that with 300, too.

The Kingdom remains a fine drama about killing a bunch of soulless terrorists. If you know anyone who finds moral equivalency in the final scene, then you should shoot them. We’re kidding—but, really, it would be okay.

Make it your own:
The Kingdom’s opening this Friday. If you’re in New York or L.A., it’s understandable to go see The Darjeeling Limited first.
