Kathy Shaidle directs us to
this interesting item where a Dell Computer ad proclaims that, “In the real world, Goliath wins.” It’s certainly interesting to see that the Dell corporation believes that David—and, inherently, Jesus Christ—is a fictional creature. The really interesting thing, though, is that the story of David and Goliath is also in the Koran. This means that Dell believes that the Koran is nothing but a big fairy tale. Please direct all angry Islamaniacs to the Dell headquarters in Round Rock, Texas.
And how do we know so much about the Koran? We suffered through
In The Valley of Elah, which is a crappy (but critically acclaimed) box-office bomb about the diseased social rejects who supposedly make up the U.S. armed forces. Tommy Lee Jones stars as the good military veteran who demonstrates his open-minded ways by having studied the Koran. The subject of David and Goliath comes up while Jones is having a conversation with homicide detective Charlize Theron. Yes, that’s Charlize Theron—in full glamour mode—as a homicide detective. The entire film sustains that level of realism.
