We stand by our statement that David Hasselhoff is the actor to beat when it comes to bringing a comic-book hero to life—as we first raved about in
our review of
Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. At the time of that entry, the 1998 TV-movie was only available as a bootleg. We’re happy to report that you can now buy the DVD exclusively at Best Buy. It costs $22.98 at list price, though, so you might want to read that review first. We’re not saying the film was Oscar-worthy or anything.
Actually, the Academy Award for Best Picture of 1998 went to
Shakespeare In Love. So, yeah,
Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. is Oscar-worthy.
