   From the liner notes to Hamburger, which is a swell collection of punkish singles and outtakes from the career of The Muffs (as written by frontwoman Kim Shattuck, commenting here on the band’s cover of the new-wave tune “Rock and Roll Girl” for a benefit album): “We did this for Planned Parenthood, who you would THINK would be all for free speech and whatnot, but when I changed the lyrics from ‘I wanna be with a rock and roll girl’ to ‘I wanna beat up a rock and roll girl,’ they threatened to pull the song unless we changed it. We sold out and changed it. I still feel bad about that."
