“Me am NBC host!”

It’s been a stellar day for NBC News. We’ve got Brian Williams bowing to Obama, and then our President co-opting with the network to use their news division to help out
The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien. In contrast, Matt Lauer seems pretty harmless in helping to make the upcoming
Land of the Lost into a true sci-fi fantasy. That has nothing to do with the movie’s re-imagining of what used to be a charming and thrilling kiddie show. Instead, it has to do with the film’s opening scene, as Matt Lauer plays a morning-show host named “Matt Lauer” who’s actually concerned over how taxpayer dollars are wasted.
Parents, incidentally, shouldn’t be fooled by their own childhood memories. The new
Land of the Lost is strictly for ages 13 and up. We’re not saying that was the age requirement for anyone working on the film, of course. It certainly seems to have been edited by an 8-year-old.
